Body 579 is a brown to black firing stoneware quality with 40 % chamotte 0 – 2.0 mm. The recommended firing range is 1000 °C – 1120 °C.
The plastic body is suitable for building-up large-sized pieces. The dark colour of the fired body shows to advantage unglazed. A rustic surface design is possible because of the coarse chamotte.
