Body 559 is a light red to dark red firing stoneware quality with 40 % chamotte 0 – 2.0 mm. The recommended firing range is 1000 °C – 1220 °C.
The plastic body is very suitable for building-up large to extra large pieces. The warm red colour of the fired body shows to advantage unglazed. A rustic surface design is possible because of the coarse chamotte.
